Celestron 9.25 XLT on an HEQ5 Pro mount

by Celestron

Price: £1500.00

This is a great combination of a 9.25 Celestron SCT OTA mounted on the superb HEQ5Pro GOTO mount. The combination of second hand items is available at the excellent price of £1500. A great opportunity for the advanced amateur to purchase this set up.

Generally accepted as the jewel in Celestron's SCT crown.

"On our first night out, we couldn't resist a peek at an old friend, the Orion Nebula, M42. Using the supplied 24mm eyepiece gave us 98x magnification [now supplied with 25mm / 94x]. The nebula's bright core practically filled the view, bumpy, mottled and full of detail. At it's heart, the main stars of the Trapezium cluster were beautifully split.
To be fair, the central portion of M42 is an easy target. Less the dimming tendrils of glowing gas that arc away from it. They were fascinating to follow and extended for quite some distance. We also liked the view of M42's fainter neighbour, De Mairan's Nebula, M43. It's classic comma shape was easy to see thanks to the contrast delivered by the C9.25's Starbright/XLT-coated optics."
Pete Lawrence writing for BBC Sky at Night Magazine

The 9 1/4" was specifically designed for visual infinity focus when using 2" eyepieces and has an optimized baffle system to benefit astrophotography by minimizing vignetting at the edge of the field of view. Its longer primary focal length and lower magnification secondary mirror contribute to a flatter field of view at the focal plane and helps to further reduce optical aberrations.

Latest specification including Fastar/Hyperstar Compatibility.

This C9 1/4 optical system also includes StarBright® XLT coatings.

This version of the OTA is supplied with the CGX / Vixen / Sky-Watcher style dovetail.
